Why You Need Brand Photos
Do me a favor and make a list of your three favorite Instagram accounts. You know, the ones you always double tap, save to your albums and generally lust after. I’ll wait…
Got ‘em? Now look at their feeds - I bet every one of those accounts shares stunning photos of their products/staff/environment every day. Check their website - see the same thing? That’s not a coincidence. A successful brand shows consistency of quality and vibe across all channels of communication, and since people are consuming social media and website information online at an alarming rate, you have a matter of seconds to make the impression you’re hoping to make.
ATTENTION TO AESTHETICS IS VITAL TO YOUR BUSINESS.
INVEST IN THE NEXT STEP OF YOUR VISUAL BRAND
So often, I see entrepreneurs put money into quality branding to establish a standout logo, consistent fonts and brand colors. This investment is important and of high value, but if you don’t have quality imagery to set your brand apart, it could be a wasted investment.
Analytics show time and time again that our followers want to know us, the faces behind the brand. That personal connection establishes trust and a subconscious investment in the success of our company. While selfies are all fine and good now and then, investing in quality photos of you doing your badass thing gives the impression that you’re a damn professional (even if most of your time is spent at your desk in yoga pants) and therefore someone to be trusted.
Please note that I’m not suggesting you be inauthentic - share the real stuff!! Simply do it with your best foot forward.
PRODUCT & LIFESTYLE IMAGERY
If you’re selling a product, you already know that stellar images of your product directly equate to the sales that you do. Incorporating that same level of quality into lifestyle imagery of your products allows you to establish an “ideal life” for your clients to picture. This means showing how your product could fit into their perfect day, their perfect trip, their perfect home, etc. Having strong photos of your product being used to share online? Absolutely essential. Check back on those favorite accounts you chose in the beginning and you’ll likely see exactly what I mean.
The same goes for a service based business. What could their life feel like after working with you? Professional images portraying the key values of your brand in a lifestyle setting can make a MASSIVE difference in the way your brand is perceived.
In short, brand imagery is an investment in yourself and your brand,
and shows potential clients how incredible working with you could be.
